Candy Melts Treats for Your Valentine

Chocolate has always been a staple for Valentine’s Day. Homemade candies deliver the same sweet sentiment with even more heart! Try one of these easy Candy Melts treats and share the love this Valentine’s Day.

Strawberry Champagne Filled Candies

Forget the boxed chocolates, these homemade Strawberry Champagne Filled Candies are the perfect way to show someone how much you care.  These cute candies would also be great to give as wedding favors or treats for a bridal shower.

Ingredients:

In a disposable decorating bag, melt dark cocoa Candy Melts candy according to package directions.

Fill Silicone Petite Hearts Mold 1/3 full with melted candy. Using decorating brush, paint candy up sides of each cavity. Refrigerate 5-10 minutes or until candy is firm.

In small bowl, combine marshmallow fluff, strawberry preserves, and Crisp Champagne Flavor concentrate; mix until smooth. Place in disposable decorating bag.

Fill candy cups 3/4 full with marshmallow mixture. Cover mixture with thin layer of melted candy, reheating candy if necessary. Tap mold to level. Chill 15-20 minutes or until completely set.

Unmold candies. Reheat remaining candy and drizzle over tops, sprinkling with nonpareils if desired.

Makes 1 dozen candies.

Hearts in Twists Candy Bark

These delicious pretzel bites are surrounded in a bed of chocolate and topped with a cute little heart, making them great edible Valentine’s for kids and adults.  One recipe makes 48 squares, so this is a great treat if you need to make a lot of goodies for a party or classroom.
Makes 48 servings.

Ingredients:

Step 1: Prepare candy Melt two bags Light Cocoa Candy Melts Candy according to package directions.  Pour melted candy into cookie pan.  Tap pan to spread candy evenly.  Make six rows of eight pretzels, pushing down slightly to set pretzel.

Sprinkle with nonpareils and chill until set, about five minutes.

Step 2: Make hearts Melt 6 oz. White Candy Melts Candy according to package directions.  Place melted candy into parchment bag.  Cut small hole in tip of bag.  Pipe white candy inside pretzel to form heart shape.  Immediately add one Jumbo Heart Sprinkle to center of heart, pushing down slightly to set.  Continue until all pretzels are filled.  Chill until set, 30 to 35 minutes.

Step 3: Unmold candy Transfer entire piece to cake board and let come to room temperature.  Using a knife, cut candy into squares.

They are usually the first to all go off the bake table. People say they have never seen anything like them and kids yank on their parents coattails to buy them. js

    When you say to unmold the chocolate from pan in creating pretzel bark, how is this done? Should the pan first be lined with waxed paper or parchment paper?

      Hi Karen,

      As long as a non-stick pan is used, no wax or parchment is needed. Once chilled and set, it should just pop out of the pan, then easily placed on a board for cutting. If you are worried about cutting it a certain way, we have seen people score it slightly before it is completely set.

    I don’t know what, Treatology Crisp Champagne Flavor Concentrate, is. Can you explain what it is? It does look very interesting.

      Treatology is 8 flavor concentrates (extracts) in 0.64 FL OZ bottles from Wilton. You can purchase from Wilton on-line or at Michael’s. Around $25.00 I suggest GOOGLE and check it out.

    I made the strawberry champagne candies and they were delicious! I couldn’t find the champagne concentrate, so I omitted it and they turned out great! Just a word of warning… They are a bit messy when you bite into them, so have lots of napkins ready!

    I made the strawberry champagne candies just like the directions but I was not happy with them. The filling was runny and a teaspoon of the champagne concentrate is way to much. I really like the idea but there has got to be a better recipe to get it a little more firm. I would love some advice.

    As a woman asked above (no answer) how do you transfer the whole pan of chocolate pretzel onto a cutting board in one piece
