S’mores are more than just a classic campfire treat. The combination of marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker flavors can be captured in so many different desserts. I know every time I see something s’mores-related, I just have to try it!

Everyone will be bringing something to the 4th of July picnic, but you can bring the grand finale. Each of these tasty sweet treats captures the flair of the 4th without the fuss. In just a little time, you can add patriotic color and fun flavor to classics like cupcakes, ice cream cones and cookies.
The word “granita” sounds like a mighty fancy treat, but it’s really just a semi-frozen dessert made from water, sugar, fruit and other flavors. As we move further into summer and temperatures begin to rise, an icy granita is the perfect way to cool down.
Some of my favorite memories growing up were going to ice cream shops and getting GIANT ice cream cones. My favorite indulgence was the waffle cone, filled with a scoop or two of the chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I made sure it was so full that I had to eat it with one of the long sundae spoons. I was a kid. Giant ice cream cones made me smile. Heck, they still do! All of the different flavors, the funny upside-down cones decorated like clowns, all the toppings… Mmm… I’m salivating just thinking about it. (more…)
Summer is winding down and it seems like every other weekend includes a party. Whenever I needed a sweet treat to share, I brought decorated cupcakes. One of my favorite designs this year was a cupcake decorated with sunflowers, ladybugs and bumblebees. They were so bright and cheerful – and a big hit! (more…)
Summer is absolutely my favorite season. No matter how high the temperature climbs, I can’t get enough of the heat…except in my house. I love to be outside, to garden, to swim, to cycle, especially in very warm weather. But sweating in my kitchen is another story! (more…)
