I started my own baking YouTube channel, and I’m having a blast!

I’ve been making videos for Wilton for nearly 6 years…time flies when you’re having fun!  Making videos is my favorite part of my job. I’ve always loved baking and decorating cakes, sharing recipes, and teaching people decorating techniques. It’s truly my passion. But get me in front of a camera, and I love it even more!  Apparently, I’m a ham. I’m cool with that.

Adult Smash2In less than three weeks, I’ll be 30. In my early 20’s, turning 30 seemed like such a big deal – one of those milestones where you’re supposed to have all kinds of life goals checked off your to-do list or else…or else what, exactly? 30 is certainly a milestone, but it’s also just a number, so let’s not stress over it. To kick off the next decade of my life, I wanted to do something fun and memorable; something that would remind me to keep loving life and having fun.

Mastering the Art of Cake Decorating

The first time I really tried to bake and decorate a cake was for my roommate’s birthday during my senior year of college. I had baked cookies and brownies before but never really tried to master a cake. I picked up a box of cake mix, two 9-inch round pans and a tub of chocolate icing and got to work in our tiny apartment kitchen.

I didn’t know the first thing about decorating a cake back then.
