The Inspiration Behind the NEW Cone Cakes Cupcake Baking Rack

May 8th, 2015 by Kate Gredlics

Some of my favorite memories growing up were going to ice cream shops and getting GIANT ice cream cones. My favorite indulgence was the waffle cone, filled with a scoop or two of the chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I made sure it was so full that I had to eat it with one of the long sundae spoons. I was a kid. Giant ice cream cones made me smile. Heck, they still do! All of the different flavors, the funny upside-down cones decorated like clowns, all the toppings… Mmm… I’m salivating just thinking about it.

Cone Cakes Cupcake Baking RackIt was because of this memory, jogged by the overuse of Pinterest, and combined with my love of everything cupcake, that the Wilton Cone Cakes™ Cupcake Baking Rack was born. This unique racking system allows you to be able to turn your ice cream cones into cupcakes. Mock-ice Cream! YES! So many options, so little time!

The Cone Cakes Cupcake Baking Rack is a fun way to bake and serve treats at your next party. We’ve also made it really easy for you to create these fun desserts! Simply place your cones in the rack (designed for both sugar and wafer cones), fill with cake batter, and bake. The rack also is perfect for cooling, decorating, and makes a cute serving station. This piece is a one-stop-shop! When you are done, just fold the legs down for easy storage.

I can’t wait to try this with my three-year-old daughter. I can only imagine what flavors she will think up! I’m thinking a nice rocky-road inspired cone cupcake for me. She’ll probably want something pink and purple; Bubble gum flavor, perhaps? What flavor will you create? The possibilities are limitless.

A recipe for ice cream cone cupcakes is in a Betty Crocker children’s cookbook I received as a child. They were so much fun to make but not easy to bake. So glad you designed this rack so waffle and sugar cones can be used. I can’t wait to buy a rack and make cupcakes for my grandkids. I know they will love them!

so disappointed that this is not available. It’s August 1 and I’m about to have a few outdoor parties. This would be perfect. July 31 is not the end of summer or the “season” Can’t even find them in stores! Many people still eat ice cream cones in August and don’t forget Labor Day BBQ’s
