On Mother’s Day, I recognize my sister Cindy because she has been like a mother to me. From watching after me when I was young to applying my make-up for Prom, I’ve always felt lucky to have a “second” mother. Since Cindy is an avid gardener, I wanted to gift her with an edible flower bouquet – Voila – Cake Pops! Sure, I could have taken the easy way out and ordered flowers, but gifting homemade treats that come from the heart is more meaningful.
My pantry and fridge were already stocked with ingredients for the favorite cake ball recipe so I was on my way. After the cake cooled, it was ready to crumble and mix with White Decorator Icing.
Using my stainless steel cookie scoop, I was able to scoop the perfect amount to roll uniform sized cake balls. While these set up in the fridge, I gathered my items to complete my gift-worthy flower display.
Cindy’s favorite colors are pink and purple so I chose the Flower Garden Bouquet Kit, Pink Candy Melts®, Purple Sugar Sprinkles and Jumbo Daisies Sprinkles. I used my new favorite kitchen appliance – the Wilton Chocolate Pro™ Melting Pot. It kept the melts at a nice and smooth consistency using the “warm” feature.
To assemble the pops, I first dipped the lollipop stick in the melts before inserting into the cake ball. After this set, I was ready to dip the entire cake ball into the melting pot.
After sprinkling with the sugar and adding a jumbo daisy sprinkle as my center of the flower, I placed the pops in a tall glass to set.
To complete my flower theme, I added the Ruffle Pops Wraps and placed into the base of the bouquet kit.
I hope Cindy enjoys these as much as I did making them!
