If you have youngsters, it seems like there’s always a birthday party on the schedule. When it’s your turn to host, you want to do something special. After all, kids can be tough critics—so make sure your kid’s party includes fun treats and exciting activities. With a Pops Party, you will have the best of both worlds!
You know how much kids love to eat pops. At their age, it doesn’t get better than holding a sweet treat on a stick. But a treat tastes even better when it’s a personalized pop kids decorate themselves. You’re sure to have a captive audience ready to get in on the fun of pop-making and munching.
Best of all, a pops party is easy to put together. My neighbor, Manjusha, recently hosted a pops party for her daughters and shared some of the fun details in the letter below. Manjusha had never made or decorated pops before—and now she and all her guests are big pops fans. After you read about her experience, I think you’ll want to become a pops pro too!
We had so much fun on Friday night with the Pops Party. The girls really enjoyed the event—it was extremely easy to do. I made the cake pops earlier in the day. The recipe was very easy to follow and it was accurate. Then I created “stations” for each of the different pop designs.
The girls walked into a room that was fully set up. The first step was to create the base coating. The girls had so much fun twirling the pops in the Candy Melts mixture. It was very easy to do. And, as long as they worked quickly, the pops stayed on the sticks with no problem. The only time we had an issue was if the Candy Melts mixture needed to be remelted or if the girls left the pops in the mixture for too long.
We waited about 30 minutes before decorating the pops—decorating was the best part! You would not believe the amount of laughter in the room. The girls had so much fun. There were 5 girls, ages K-4. That’s pretty young…yet, they could totally make some very cool pops! After making a couple pops apiece, the girls got more ambitious. We had several 3-eyed aliens.
It really was a great time. All of the Wilton products were great. They were all very easy to work with. The instructions were right on. Thanks for everything.
