Show-Stopping Gum Paste Statement Flowers Made Easy

April 27th, 2015 by Desiree Smith

Statement flowers are a hot trend on the runway and in retail stores, appearing on clothing, hair accessories and necklaces. The flower power isn’t stopping at fashion, though – these stunning flowers are a show-stopping addition to cake decorating.

Poppies, peonies and succulents can all be created with new Gum Paste Cut-Out Sets. These gum paste flowers have lifelike detail and may even be mistaken for silk flowers! While they may appear to be difficult to make, the cut-out sets and step-by-step instructions make it easy even for a beginner. You just need to have a little patience and follow each step.

Each cutter in these sets is etched on one side for easy identification when following the step-by-step instructions. The metal rims provide stability when cutting to create detailed petals and leaves.

I am interested in making the purple flower. It looks like a combination of roses and carnations. I love it. It I purple with some pink in it.

Will there be a video on how to make the succulents? When I click the pick above, it takes me to a page with a cake decorated with the poppy.

I just bought the peony, poppy and succulent set today and tried to use the link you have posted on the box to access these videos. It did not work and it took a long time to try and find out where they were. I had to google it to find out where to look. Some people may not know how to do that option: s.wilton.com/GumPasteSucculentsCutter–I finally located it, please make it easier for other people in the future to locate it.
