This new trend has its roots in the recent trend of “flights” — samplers served at restaurants — in both foods and drinks, but the new tastings are smaller servings, a true “tasting,” letting you try multiples.

We noticed that our popular treat pops were more of a “serving” than a “taste.” We were convinced that the unlimited treat pop flavor combinations would be a perfect fit for this new small-bite dessert trend. So, honey, we shrunk the treat pop containers! (more…)

Mother’s Day Pops Bouquet for a Sweet Sister

On Mother’s Day, I recognize my sister Cindy because she has been like a mother to me. From watching after me when I was young to applying my make-up for Prom, I’ve always felt lucky to have a “second” mother. Since Cindy is an avid gardener, I wanted to gift her with an edible flower bouquet – Voila – Cake Pops! Sure, I could have taken the easy way out and ordered flowers, but gifting homemade treats that come from the heart is more meaningful. (more…)

Gifts from the Heart (and Kitchen)

The first food gift I ever made was a batch of brownies for our neighbor’s anniversary. I felt very grown up since this was the first time I was unsupervised in the kitchen. After the brownies cooled, I cut them into squares and dusted them with a liberal amount of powdered sugar. After wrapping them in foil, I finished off the delicious gift with yarn I found in my mom’s sewing supplies and walked them proudly next door. (more…)

My sister is a gourmet cook who loves to entertain at home. At any given time, Cindy can pull together a dinner party for 25 using only what is stocked in the pantry and fridge. Food Network should be filming in her kitchen! So when Cindy asked me for dessert ideas for her upcoming fall dinner party, I knew I had to come up with a grand finale to cap off an amazing meal.
