In celebration of Mother’s Day, we asked Wilton employees to share some special memories and stories. For many of us, our moms – or someone who is like a mom to us – piqued our interest in baking. I love to bake, but recently encountered a big problem….a child who has a gluten allergy. It’s so hard nowadays, as there are so many food allergies or sensitivities within families. My husband and I are currently reading every product label and adjusting our family’s diet to try and include main courses and sides to accommodate all of us. Desserts should be no different!
Ever since I was in high school, my friend Natalie has loved pink flamingos. To this day, when I’m out and about or shopping and see something flamingo themed, it automatically puts a smile on my face. I love to snap a photo and text her to let her know I’m thinking about her.
Summer is winding down and it seems like every other weekend includes a party. Whenever I needed a sweet treat to share, I brought decorated cupcakes. One of my favorite designs this year was a cupcake decorated with sunflowers, ladybugs and bumblebees. They were so bright and cheerful – and a big hit! (more…)
