If my dad was stranded on a deserted island and he had the choice of a nice piece of chocolate or a phone to call for help, I’m almost certain he’d choose chocolate to snack on while patiently waiting for someone to rescue him. Now that may be a little extreme, but he does love his chocolate! Since I love to spoil any family member on their special day, I knew I had to plan an all-out chocolatey surprise for Father’s Day. When I was younger and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day would roll around, I would ask my parents “when is Kid’s Day?” They would reply “every day.” As a kid, I was not amused. Now, I realize the truth behind their reply. Parents care and work for their children every day and are given one official day of appreciation. Why not show that appreciation with a homemade treat? New Wilton products always give me a great excuse to make something sweet. And, using store-bought sandwich cookies is a quick and easy way to create cookie pops. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. When I participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this year, I had never realized what an impact that weekend would have on me, nor would I have imagined so many shades of pink!
