July is the perfect time for us to all scream for ice cream – it’s National Ice Cream Month!
Create your own dipped cones at home by dipping plain cones into melted Candy Melts candy and cover with your favorite toppings, such as sprinkles, crushed peanuts or cookie crumbles. After you dip and decorate your cone, place it in the Cone Cakes Baking Rack and let the candy set for at least 15 minutes. Then just add a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
You can also bake your cake directly in the cones with the Cone Cakes Rack. Place the rack on a cookie sheet and fill each cone with two tablespoons of cake batter. Bake, let cool and then decorate with a swirl of icing. Here we decided to tint buttercream icing to look like Neapolitan ice cream and used the Color Swirl coupler with a 1M tip to finish off the look. These really look like cones filled with soft serve ice cream!
