Cupcake Presentation With Pizzazz

April 21st, 2011 by Jenn Paul

Cupcakes and mini desserts are still a hot trend. Creative displays and presentation also help draw family and friends to the dessert table. I decided to challenge myself and extend my creativity to a blank canvas – a 3-tier cupcake stand!

Easter Grass Cupcakes

I started by baking cupcakes in Wilton’s pastel baking cups. To decorate the cupcakes, I created green buttercream icing and used Tip 233 to create lots of grass. I wanted the centers to stand out, so I added a lot of green grass in the middle. It was quick and easy! I topped off the cupcakes with our Nest with Jelly Beans Royal Icing Decorations. (They are so adorable; I received many compliments!)

Next on the list was constructing and decorating the 3-Tier Cupcake Stand, and finding ways to display the cupcakes. I used our Martha Stewart Large Flower Punch and Bright Flowers Layered Accents to add spring flowers, stickers, and glitter to cardstock. I then wrapped the cardstock around the cupcake stand and taped it to the stand.

I also thought of other ways to display these cupcakes, which I plan to use for my next family event! The ideas below are a couple different ways to show off your creativity and make your friends and family unable to resist the sweet treats! What unique ways have you displayed your baked treats?

Jenn Paul Jenn's love of baking began when she used to admire how her Grandma Anne worked so easily in the kitchen making donuts and cakes for all of her family. Once she started at Wilton, her fascination of cake design took off and she ended up taking all three of the Wilton Method courses. Since then, she has been creating all types of cakes for her family and friends. Jenn enjoys working out, volunteering, and spending a lot of time with her family, friends, and her new dog Sabra. That Flower Punch is a cool tool! I never knew there was such a thing. I thought you did that by hand! Thanks for sharing Jenn! I don’t scrapbook, but I can see how this tool can be great for decorations and creativity!! I can imagine using it for banding around presents in lieu of ribbon!!
