I have an amazing Mom. She went to all of my school plays, helped move me every year of college, and continues to support me in every aspect of my life. When you are truly blessed with family like this, you have to show them how much you care.
If most of the time it’s Mom who does the baking, this Mother’s Day switch it up and bake her a treat. These mini cakes will not only impress your Mom, but she will know you took the time to make something just for her.
Use decorating tip #104 for the petals and tip #1 for the five dots in the center. You can use whatever colors you like; I chose to make purple and pink flowers using the Violet icing color and the Rose icing color. Use parchment paper over the template when creating the flowers, then allow the flowers to dry completely.
To begin, bake a standard 9 x 13 quarter sheet cake. After it has cooled, take the largest cutter from the Round Cut-Outs™ and cut mini cakes. Helpful hint: use the leftover cake scraps to make cake pops!
Use White Decorator Icing to cover the mini cakes. To make a bottom border, cut a 1/4 inch strip of Pastel Green Fondant with the Fondant Cutter and wrap around the base of your cakes. Pipe stems and leaves with tip #3 and attach to your Apple Blossoms.
