This easy vegan buttercream frosting is smooth, creamy and delicious. Pipe this 4-ingredient, dairy free buttercream onto your favorite cakes and cupcakes.
In a large bowl, beat shortening and vanilla with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, the frosting will appear dry.
Gradually add non-dairy milk or water; beat at medium speed until silky smooth.
