I might have to make Marilyn Johnson, of Pink Martinis and Pearls, a cape, because she just became my new entertaining supershero (she+hero=shero).
Granted, she’s a Sweet Treat Team Brand Ambassador, but she made the most splendid quiche for a springtime brunch using the Springtime Cupcake Pan. It would be perfect for Easter or Mother’s Day or just a get-together with the girls some weekend. But folks, that’s not all she did. You’ve gotta go over to her blog and see what she did with leeks. Yes, I said LEEKS! Seriously, her mind works in mysterious and wonderful ways.
As if the quiche flower wasn’t amazing enough, she also turned plain bagels into a beautiful blossom, piping whipped cream cheese petals and finishing the centers with salmon and capers. I love how, at first glance, the plate just appears to have three bagel halves on it. When you look closer, you see that she’s basically showing each step of the technique on that plate. Genius!
What I appreciate most about her blog post is that I truly believe I could do this myself for my next brunch gathering. (Okay, I might struggle with the leeks part, but she explains it so well that I think I could really do it!)
What do you think? Are you going to try this for your next brunch? Stop by Marilyn’s blog and leave her a comment letting her know which part of her post inspired you most! Then let us know if you would use the Springtime Cupcake Pan for quiche, cupcakes or something else entirely. We love to hear from you.
