Looking to do something new and learn something different? Have you always wondered if you were naturally creative or if someone inspired you, you could be creative? The Wilton School has provided excellence in cake decorating and has inspired creativity for over 80 years.

Try Something New at The Wilton School In November, a student from Austria attended our 1-day class in Fondant for the Holidays. We looked at her and said, “Austria?!” We have never had a student from Austria – she made the 96th country that has attended the school. We are always excited about newcomers and former students alike. Previous students think of us as continuing their education and furthering their cake decorating skills. Of course, anyone traveling from abroad and afar is curious about what we have to offer.

The Master Course remains our most popular. The Master Course builds a solid foundation to either “NEW” cake decorators or those who want to perfect their skills. Keeping up with today’s trends, you will find an Advanced Sugar Artistry Class that will take you over the top teaching you artistic balance in a contemporary fashion, utilizing spun, piped and blown sugar. Then adding what you have learned in sugar to a 2-tier fondant cake, making you top decorator in your league.

Try Something New at The Wilton School Anyone who has taken a class from Laurie Bradach will understand why her NEW Showpiece Class will be more than phenomenal! You will be learning advanced blowing techniques to create birds, fish and fruit. And who knows, with Laurie’s attitude of “think freely and creatively,” there may be more.

For those of you who need to work on “REAL” cakes whether in buttercream or fondant, decorate with royal or gum paste, you need to check those 3-day workshop classes for additional information.

Sandy Folsom Sandy is the Director of the The Wilton School. Sandy has been teaching professional cake decorating classes for over 25 years, 18 of those with Wilton. Internationally, she has shared her expertise with well-known professionals and enthusiastic students in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Taiwan. Folsom had the opportunity to work side by side for 10 years with Wesley Wilton, the youngest son of Dewey McKinley Wilton, founder of Wilton Industries. Sandy's students describe her as "patient, fun and a great instructor."

    The Wilton Master Course has been taught in several countries, but not South Africa. I just finished a course in Lisbon, Portugal and we have 1 scheduled in Amsterdam for April 4-14. Possibly that would be a little closer. You can check our website for the contact person in the Netherlands, if that is more convenient for you. Looking forward to meeting you.

    Is there any chance you might offer these shorter classes (such as the 1 day project courses) elsewhere in certain major Canadian cities? Unfortunately the Wilton headquarter location is too far for me to get to for a 1 day course. If it were a bit closer to home, even a 3-4 hour drive to a major Canadian city, I would be interested in taking some of your courses.

    Just attended a “fondant covered cake” class run by Laurel Cohen. It used the Wilton methods and fondant. It was so much fun and so easy to make a great looking cake. I was so happy with it, I posted it on my blog. I hope to experiment more in the coming weeks.

    I’m sold. I’m signed up for the weekend masters class to start feb 13. I want to know if classes were canceled because of the weather how and when would we students be notified.

    I just completed the weekend master course this past Sunday. OMG it was fantastic. Debbie and Lorena were fabulous. I learned so much. I really recommend the master course to anyone who is interested. I will be a returning student for other courses. Thanks so much for these great instructors.

    I am so glad to hear that you will be returning. Both instrctors teach other courses. Lorena will be teaching the Artistic Gelatin Class on Sat., March 12. Turning plain gelatin into a display of flowers, unbelieveable, but she will show you how easy it is. Or, Intro To Fondant Modeling in the afternoons after the Master’s, March 21-25, working with fondant and modeling into cute little figures. Lorena also teaches baking classes, check those out because there is a 3-day workshop April 27-29. Debbie will be teaching a Fondant & GP working with real cakes May 2-4. So there definitely is more in store for you now that you have finished the Master Course. Hope to see you soon!

    I was wondering if you already have a schedule for Wilton Master courses which held in Europe. I live close to Netherlands and i’m interested in the master courses for 2012-2013 season. Any information would be appreciated.

    I am trying to figure out a way to get to the Master Course. I have been decorating for 4 years. Because I will have to fly across country, I have a few questions. First off, what supplies, in terms of decorating would I need. Secondly, with the Wilton Method courses I took, I had to travel two hours and bring with me not only my decorating kit, but also the cakes/cupcakes/cookies we needed and the frosting. Would I have to do that with the Master Course as well? I am not sure I would have access to an oven, mixer, ect. Lastly, if you provide the tools, do they belong to the school or will they become ours after the course is over?

      Hello Cassandra,

      Tuition for the Master Course includes all of the supplies you will need. All of the cakes are also provided. The Wilton School is equipped with a full kitchen – several mixers, ovens, dishwashers. I took the Master Course myself and it was an incredible experience! I highly encourage you to contact the School Coordinator at (800) 772-7111 ext. 2888 with any questions you may have.
