Dress up homemade or store-bought macarons with these three simple decorating ideas!

With three simple decorating techniques, you can create these cute macarons for gifting to friends and family or enjoying keeping them all to yourself. For a quick decorating idea, use a drop flower tip to add a cute flower to the top of your macarons. For fun colors, use FoodWriter markers to draw a rainbow on your macaron. Finally, try dipping your treats in marbled royal icing for a simple and fun sweet you’ll love to eat!

Instructions:

1.) Bake macarons. Prepare meringue batter following recipe instructions. Using decorating bag with tip 2A instead of tip 1A, pipe, bake and cool macaron shells.

2.) Decorate macarons. Prepare decorating bag with tip 2A and white icing (use this to fill all varieties of macarons).

Rainbow Macarons:

Using FoodWriter markers, draw rainbows on half of macaron shells. Fill and assemble macarons. Roll edge of macarons in rainbow nonpareils. Prepare decorating bag with tip 3 and white icing. Pipe clouds on ends of rainbows.

Prep Time: 2 hours

Total Time: 3 hours

Marbled Macarons:

Fill and assemble macarons. Prepare royal icing following recipe instructions. Thin to count of 20. Using Violet icing color, tint ¼ cup white icing purple. Using Teal icing color, tint ¼ cup white icing teal. Reserve remaining icing white. Drizzle purple and teal icing over white icing. Swirl with toothpick. Dip top of each macaron into icing, lightly shaking off excess. Let dry, at least 2 hours.

Total Time: 4 hours

Piped Flower Macarons:

Fill and assemble macarons. Prepare decorating bag with tip 190 and white icing. Pipe drop flower on top of each cookie. Add yellow nonpareils to center of each flower.

Total Time: 3 hours
