Bastille Day is a holiday celebrated in France, and many French-speaking countries, on July 14th. It marks the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, which was the beginning of the French Revolution.
Several countries, including France, Canada and The United States, have cherished customs to celebrate Bastille Day. Festivals, parades, street performers, and historical recreations are just some of the ways French people all over the world celebrate Bastille Day. And, of course, what would any celebration be without food?
