Mini Cakes for Birthdays and Every Day

June 26th, 2019 by Desiree Smith

We all know great things come in small packages, so we’ve assembled some small-but-mighty mini birthday cake ideas that work beautifully as individual servings or as smash cakes. From mermaid cakes that can work for beach or pool parties to floral cakes and even a classic (and gluten-free!) chocolate cake, we’ve got the tiny cakes you need for a tremendous celebration. After all, anything worth doing well…is worth doing well in miniature.

Mini Flower Cakes

No mini cake pan? No problem. Jenny Cookies uses a round cookie cutter to cut “layers” from a baking pan. Sweet piped frosting blossoms complete the effect for a cake that’s perfect for a flower-themed birthday.

Hydrangea Cakes

Speaking of flowers, these mini hydrangea cakes from Sugar Hero! combine realistic-looking piped hydrangeas with a dreamy tinted cake for a single serving that’s a symphony of color.

Mermaid Mini Cakes

Crazy Adventures in Parenting has created colorful mermaid mini cakes that are ready to swim into your next party! Purple-tinted cake batter matches a mermaid theme or try blue batter and orange icing for a sunset-at-the-beach effect.

Mini Chocolate Layer Cake

For another alternative to a mini cake pan, these gluten-free mini chocolate cakes from What the Fork are baked in ramekins for a perfect, classic cake that works for any kind of birthday or anniversary.

Wacky and Wild Mini Smash Cakes

Leopard, zebra and bear cakes – oh my! – decorated in varying shades of a single color make beautiful smash cakes for a first birthday, or make all three for a jungle or animal-themed party.

Stunning Succulent Cakes

Simple white icing is paired with piped succulents in muted colors for a great little (pun intended) way to incorporate a modern trend into a sophisticated party theme.

Take a big chance by making one of these mini cakes for your next birthday, party or an everyday dessert. Tell us all about it in the comments below or tag us @WiltonCakes on Instagram.
