Color Right Concentrated Food Coloring

Featuring ultra-concentrated colors in squeezable bottles, Color Right food coloring will give you the right shade of purple without compromising consistency.

Purple is not included in the base colors but can be created by mixing Blue and Pink base colors together.

Light Purple: 2 cups white buttercream + 2 drops Blue + 6 drops Pink

Medium Purple: 2 cups white buttercream + 3 drops Blue + 9 drops Pink

Dark Purple: 2 cups white buttercream + 8 drops Blue + 24 drops Pink

Icing Colors

Icing colors are a great way to tint your buttercream. Be sure to use a clean teaspoon or toothpick to add color to your frosting.

For Small Amounts of Icing (Less than 1 Cup)

If you need less than 1 cup of purple buttercream for your project, we suggest using one of our pre-colored purple icing pouches or tubes. We have a couple varieties to best suit your needs.

Helpful Hints:

If possible, make your purple frosting a day or two ahead of time. The color will deepen as it sets.

Instructions
 

  • Place 1 cup of buttercream frosting in a small bowl.
  • Using a clean toothpick to add a medium amount of Violet icing color. With a second clean toothpick add a small amount of Burgundy icing color.
  • Mix thoroughly using a spatula until reached desired shade.

Notes

  • Be sure to use a clean teaspoon or toothpick to add color to your frosting. This will keep your icing color fresh for your next decorating project.
  • If possible, make your purple frosting a day or two ahead of time. The color will deepen as it sets.
  • Play around with the food coloring amounts to get the perfect shade of purple!
