It’s everyone’s favorite fruit-inspired holiday, National Strawberry Day! Strawberries have numerous health benefits (like vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber), and they are easily made into a variety of delectable desserts. Today we are celebrating this fantastic fruit by highlighting our Chocolate Covered Strawberry Milkshake recipe, topped with gorgeous garnishments for a treat that’s as beautiful as it is delicious!

You Will Need:

Milkshake Garnishes

Milkshake

  • 1 container (1-1/2 quarts) strawberry ice cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup Wilton Dark Cocoa Candy Melts Candy, finely chopped
  • Whipped cream, to serve

Step 1 – First Things First

A perfect strawberry milkshake starts with the finest ingredients. Combine your favorite brand of strawberry ice cream and milk in a blender. Make sure to process until it’s perfectly smooth and creamy. Thickness is left to your discretion – some folks like their shakes extra thick and heavy, while some fancy them more “liquidy” so it can travel through a straw.  Blend until you find your perfect consistency.

Step 2 – Have Some Fun!

To spruce up your recipe a little bit, give it some added touches – stir in some of the chopped candy to make it truly decadent. If you’re looking to lighten it up a bit, cut up some strawberries to drop in for a fresh approach.

Step 3 – Prep the Glasses

If you really want to elevate this strawberry milkshake recipe to epic status, melt dark cocoa Candy Melts Candy and dip the rims of four pint glasses (we’re partial to mason jars) in melted candy, then in pink sparkling sugar. Set aside until candy has set. Divide mixture evenly among prepared glasses and top with whipped cream, of course.

Step 4 – The Presentation

If you are a stickler for presentation (and we know we are!), go wild with the details. Adorn the straws of your milkshake with mini glazed donuts (recipe found here) and nestle chocolate covered strawberries atop the whipped cream for a one-of-a-kind dessert that will be sure to dazzle anyone you share it with.

All that’s left is to sip and enjoy your Strawberry Delight! For a video that can help you make this recipe, check out the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Recipe page with a fun tutorial by Stephanie from Wilton!
